MIKE AND LESLEY CRUISING TO ITALY ON DALLIANCE 3

DALLIANCE 3

Welcome to the family and friends blog from Mike and Lesley.

We thought we would share with you our journey cruising the West Coast of Italy and onto Sicily this summer.

David Mans having rowed to the North Pole and having watched the exciting app of Sonny Rowe racing across the Atlantic I felt we of the older generation should try something too.

So here we are, Dalliance 3 is all victualled up and ready to go and we are just waiting for the weather to improve. The weather chart below shows the stormy weather we would have to contend with if we sailed across to Italy now.

We are champing at the bit waiting for the wind to settle .

Cruising from France to Italy and onto Sicily

You can follow our route with the App "Marine Traffic".  If you download the App and search for Dalliance 3 (with the French Flag) you will be able to watch how we go.

The original route we planned starts at Cavalaire-sur-mer our home port and we then travel  North East to the West side of Italy to San Remo. From there, we sail to the northern tip of Corsica and onto Bastia. From Bastia we sail to Elba.

However things can change. We might have to sail directly to Corsica due to the severe wind and Cyclone in Northern Italy. Today the route is likely to change to sail from Cavalaire-sur-mer directly across to Calvi in Corsica then around the North tip of Corsica onto Elba. From Elba we carry on with the previous route.
