13. Cruising down the Italian West Coast.

From the map we stopped off at Salerno, Agropoli, Scario, Cetraro, and Vibo Valentia (Vibo Marina). We are now heading for Sicily!

 

Agripoli 

Another hill town with a harbour below. This harbour had a dredger working to deepen the harbour entrance so a little apprehensive coming into the marina but we were reassured by the bigger boats in the marina. 

At night the cliff face was lit up. We were caught in torrential rain having gone up to the town to a restaurant but we had a good meal. 

From here we sailed onto Scario
. The rain clouds were still around over the mountains and looking quite dramatic. They seemed to be following us!

The water suddenly was full of debris such as leaves and drift wood which was not too pleasant. We did not want to hit one of these tree trunks! We went slowly but the clouds were now starting to catch us up.

We arrived at Scario just in time before the heavens opened. We beat the clouds!

Scario was a beautiful little fishing village - quiet and restful. We needed some R and R!

The view as we sipped an aperitif.

This I gather was the local lifeboat!
 

Does anyone know what this sign means? I think it means do not spill diesel or black water into the sea. I have not seen this before.
