34. Modica in the Ragusa Commune
We visited Modica in an afternoon when the temperature was 46 deg C. As I hope you can understand we did not appreciate this town as well as the other towns. Shade and some cool was called for in the style of a Galacteria (Ice Cream parlour). Little worthwhile viewing occurred but we thought it was not as inspiring as Scicli and to be fair the weather may have played a part.
The Duomo di San Georgio. The Church stands above the town with an enormous staircase leading to the Church. It is supposed to be the most impressive baroque church in Sicily.
